Job Objectives:
Elimination of waste
- Record total units produced to meet targets.
- Accurately measure and record lost time, change over and rework time.
- Raise any concerns to Shift Leader according to escalation procedure.
- Inspect & Operate machine to the required standard.
- Use gauges to set machine to the correct standard. Ensure tools available prior to commencing setup.
Continuous Improvement
- Manage and improve change over times by continues Kaizen Initiatives.
5S and Safety, Health & Environmental
- Ensure 5S is principles are practiced at all times.
- Ensure 5S initiatives are implemented on new lines. (Support with 5S improvement activities to ensure 5S is sustained in all areas of control).
Health, Safety and Environment
- Practice and improve 5S in your work area in line with the 5S check sheet.
- Ensure PPE is worn according to work standards.
- All incidents need to be reported within the same shift. Perform all safety checks according to the safety standards.
- Follow the SHEMS procedures.
Quality
- Ensure parts produced meet quality specifications and follow up on non-conforming product procedures.
- Work cycle must be completed before leaving work.
- Responsible for own quality. Follow batch procedures. Control of component quality.
- Follow reject isolation policy. Measure last off sample. Verify 1st off sample.
Delivery
- Affix & remove tools, jigs & Dies.
- Ensure tools are sent for service & care of tools and clamping devices.
- Ensure materials available for production. Load and unload raw material.
- Operate press/ Bending machine.
Attendance
- Responsible for teams’ attendance to ensure that the company target is met (Since the role is to support production, your team’s attendance is vital for the successful running of the plant).
People Development
- Follow HR Policies & Procedures. Responsible for own personal development.
General
- Report on production performance. Carry out any reasonable instructions.

Requirements:
Technical skills and specialist knowledge:
- Communication Skills essential
- Understanding Production Processes
- Numeracy and English Literacy to ABET Level 4
- Team worker/Self Discipline
Experience:
- Experience in Manufacturing & AIDA
- Forklift License (Advantageous)
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Critical)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
Other:
- Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
