Main purpose:
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the Manufacturing standards and customer specifications in Operations are defined and adhered too.
Key Responsibilities:
Elimination of waste:
- Assist in and Support the ME plans on existing and new production lines.
- Utilise all allocated resources within your control effectively at all times .
- Participate in daily Production and Project related planning. On site (22 Birmingham Rd), Head Office (No. 14 Lincoln Rd.), 31 Lincoln Rd. and Rosslyn.
- Ensure all agreed to ME facilities , Tooling, Jigs & Fixtures improvements are timeously planned and implemented as requested thru implementation and or reported losses.
- Ensure planned tasks are carried out according to planned schedule.
- Ensure equipment and spares for maintenance are always available for planned and unplanned maintenance.
5’s :
- Ensure 5S (Ensure 5S direction to defined standards).
- Ensure 5S condition is sustained and improvement activities planned and tracked.
Health, Safety and Environment:
- Ensure that the SHEMS policy and procedures are implemented and followed.
- Comply with all applicable compliance obligations to which the company subscribes in your area of responsibility.
- Provide a workplace that is without risk and of injury and ill-health.
Quality:
- Meet or exceed customer Quality requirements.
- Interpret 2D drawings and ensure that the specific requirements are fully understood.
- Design using 3D CAD data from the customer / suppliers, using available software packages inside the organization.
- Review die designs
- Utilize internally developed processes that adhere to the design requirements of the Customer, the manufacturing process and the design standard of the organization.
- Approve manufacturing processes for production in the organization.
- Support trial activities.
Delivery:
- Improve management.
- Ensure actions are entrenched to manage / eliminate the production of scrap.
- Evaluate and mitigate risk.
- Manage HR and IR items.
- Assist in identifying faults in Tooling.
- Ensure that part manufacturing is done in accordance to agreed schedules so that the plant does not stop due to preventative maintenance not carried out.
- Assist Purchasing in tooling related requirements
Attendance:
- Responsible personal attendance to ensure it is 98% on an ongoing basis (Since the role is to support production, your attendance is vital for the successful running of the plant).
People Development:
- Responsible for own personal development in line with company strategy
- Adhere to HR policies & procedures (Performance Management, Talent management, Skills development, Development planning).
General:
- Uphold the Company Vision & Values (Act in the best interest of the company in accordance with all the Company Policy & Procedures).
- Maintain and make improvements regarding manufacture of tooling components.

Minimum requirements:
Technical skills and specialist knowledge:
- Design
- Injection moulding
- Fabrication
- Tool manufacture (Would be beneficial)
Qualifications:
- Diploma in mechanical engineering (Would be beneficial)
- Qualified Tool and die maker
Experience
- 10 years’ experience in automative engineering
- Extensive knowledge and experience with machine and process
Other:
